Greetings! I am pursuing my Master of Social Work in clinical practice and will graduate May 2022. My clinical focused has been on the following subjects: Polyvagal Theory, trauma, and the foundations of Somatic Experiencing; Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for depression and anxiety, Mindfulness programming and Holistic Mind-Body work, and the neurobiological lens within Relational Cultural Therapy. I have also trained in Suicide Prevention, LGBTQI+ Inclusivity, Racial Trauma, and Harm Reduction. Currently, my coursework includes Art of Self, a therapeutic exploration of personal and cultural identity & expression, and advanced practice with groups: facilitating trauma-focused, gender-responsive, intensive intervention. I am also the recipient of a federal ROBUST scholarship grant, undergoing clinical training beyond her graduate curriculum to learn Integrative Behavioral Health intervention techniques with specific underserved populations in rural communities. My short-term career goals are to graduate, become a licensed provider at Kind Mind Counseling Center, and further develop my theoretical orientation. I enjoy helping others and have worked in the mental health and human services field for over 9 years. My previous experience includes working with individuals, groups, and families in Native American tribal settings. My education focused on Native American/Indigenous peoples in both my bachelor degree in Social Work from the College of St. Scholastica and Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
I use a strength based, humanistic approach incorporating modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Trauma Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, EMDR and Solution Focused Therapy.
